Set apart on the Cengle plateau at an altitude of 500 metres, Domaine des Masques takes its name from the hamlet where it stands, once said to be a haunt of witches ("masco" in Provençal) from the Aix region. Founded in 1991, it stands out for its wide diversity of grape varieties and cuvées.

Founded in 1991 on the secluded Cengle plateau, perched at 500 metres altitude on the foothills of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, Domaine des Masques takes its name from the hamlet where it stands — once, in ancient times, said to be a haunt of witches ("masco" in Provençal) from the Aix region. Originally planted solely with Chardonnay to best suit a particularly cool climate, it has diversified considerably since being acquired in 2003 by the Mestdagh family, Belgian wine lovers. It now covers 28 hectares of vines, 5 hectares of olive groves and 2 hectares of aromatic herbs around the hilltop farmhouse, recently supplemented by a further 10 hectares of vines in the upper Arc valley, some ten kilometres away. The whole estate is farmed organically, Ecocert-certified, and is also HVE Level 3 certified.
With a total of 14 grape varieties grown, the estate stands out for its high proportion of whites and reds, each accounting for nearly 40% of production. With the arrival in 2018 of winemaker Yannick Burles, a local trained in the Burgundy school of winemaking, the estate practises parcel-by-parcel vinification, resulting in a wide diversity of cuvées.
Winemaking uses few inputs, notably very low doses of sulphites, and ageing is tailored to each cuvée, using stainless steel, demi-muids (600-litre oak barrels) and terracotta amphorae.
In 2025, after years of technical collaboration within the Association des Vignerons de la Sainte-Victoire, the estate contributed to securing recognition of its commune, Saint-Antonin-sur-Bayon, within the Côtes-de-Provence appellation.
